The Sleep Model

Most of the business world chases numbers. Closing deals fast, stacking clients, performing growth for an audience that isn’t paying attention to the actual quality of the work underneath it. A lot of that is fake. A lot of it involves compromising something you’d rather not name out loud, just to say the number went up.

We don’t operate that way, and the reason isn’t a values statement on a slide.

The filter is simple. If it’s a bad business model but a good sleep model, it’s still the right call.

In practice that means a few things. Never use a tactic you’d be embarrassed to explain to the client’s face. Never promise a result you’re not sure you can deliver. Don’t take ten clients through a half truth when one client through the whole truth was available instead. Grow slow if slow is what it takes. Build the foundation before anything gets stacked on top of it.

The measure of a good decision isn’t only whether it makes money. It’s whether you can look the client, the team, and yourself in the face the next morning without flinching.

That’s the whole standard. Everything else gets held to it.
